Hello fellow gamers

As of today we are starting a video contest.

Design a video to be uploaded on our youtube channel that advertises our server.

Rewards:
1st place - mount of choice
2nd place - Vip
3rd place - companion of choice

The deadline: January 15th, you may post links to your video as a comment to this post.

Some things that should be in the video:
-Make sure Deathknell WoW is in the title of the video, also include a link to http://www.deathknell.cc/ in the description along with
"set realmlist forums.deathknell.cc
set patchlist forums.deathknell.cc"
-Keep the video short and sweet, so about 2-5min should be enough for a video
-Try to include music that follows with the tempo and theme of the scene playing in the video
-Show working features of our server: BGs/Dungeons

At the last time winners got donor items for the promoting videos. I'm not sure that players will
do videos again for these prizes.

I'm eager to see the idiot who's willing to spend his precious hours to get a mount.

Contests shouldn't repeat themselves if the rewards are worse. It shows weakness in the system.

How the hell is that relevant? Showing that ICC fully functioned (not the case, however) would be a relevant feature to announce, but having working BGs/Dungeons is common sense for any server in their righteous mind.

What Deathknell needs to acquire more players is a significant reform, not propaganda. We've had people with the Promoter title for a while now. Has the population of the server really changed? Nope, it hasn't (unless you count +50 players a gigantic milestone, of course.)

Honestly, You guys are idiots, thinking that a mount as a reward is something useless. This is an event open for anyone to participate, so if you don't want to participate then don't irritate the rest of us. I wouldn't mind making a video for free even.

Sarcasm won't take you far in life. We the staff of DK spent countless hours working and keeping the server up with less to nothing for it.

So what is so wrong in creating a video for a chance on a small reward?

I don't think that people should do this for prices... I just believe in Loyalty, if they really want the server to be better they help with that...

When i get some free time i'll try but i'm very busy for the holidays

Sorry for double post, just some advices for people who find it difficult maybe to upload or make a video....

To edit videos use either Sony Vegas or Adobe after effects but I really suggest NOT to use Windows Movie Maker, it makes your video CHEAP with the lame transitions!

I personally use Sony Vegas, you can either get a trial or download, PM me for download link.

To upload the video, first you have to Render it and make it of a template and then choose which format you want to make it.

MP4 files and WMV.

MP4 Files : Very low in size, but lack of graphics quality.
WMV: Big in size, Nice graphics.

HD is available for both of them but... I suggest to make WMV and leave it uploading by night.

For tutorials check Youtube, it's the best way to learn! Don't just be like "This is so irritating, screw this!" It just takes time guys, not so hard to use either.

I don't know how to use Adobe btw, so you have to do it by yourself :s

I picked a couple of winners (since Katastar rage deleted his video he couldn't enter sadly).

Huntsolo was first
Shredder was a close second

I picked Huntsolo's as first as I thought it reflected the attributes that would draw me to DK the most.

For those who were complaining about the rewards, since Katastar had the great idea for the contest we let him pick the rewards as well.  I guess now we know what motivates people, so next time we will try and offer more.
